Notes: ZhanQiao, built in 1891, was originally used as a wharf and loading pier during the German concession of Qingdao. Expanded and repaired three times (1931-1985-2013), ZhanQiao is now one of Qingdao’s must see attractions at 440 meters long and 8 meters wide. At the south end of ZhanQiao, there is a two-storied octagonal pagoda named “Hui Lai Ko” (ripple diverging pavilion) which was constructed in 1930. ZhanQiao was further made famous by its octagonal pagoda being put on the Tsingtao Beer label. At the north end of ZhanQiao you can take a rest in the park and enjoy the beautiful ornamental flowers and Japanese black pines.
